On April 26, 2018, Midlands State University was happy to welcome the Alumni Association!  Captains of industry, Staff, and Friends of the University, who gathered to mark the inaugural MSU Alumni and Friends (ZITF) Cocktail. The gathering was charged up with positive energy as the Alumni members were mapping a way forward for the Alumni association.

The Alumni and Friends Cocktail, which took place during the 2018 Zimbabwe International Trade Fare at “Carne Casa” Bulawayo, was a great success. The Brazilian touch on the menu was spices by the atmosphere of networking whilst marinated by the zeal to consolidate systems, structures and strategy towards a fully functional Alumni Association.

Professor V. N. Muzvidziwa the Acting Vice Chancellor of Midlands State University, then delivered a keynote address on the involvement of Alumni in the fulfilment of the Midlands State University vision. In his remarks, he thanked the Alumni for sharing their time with the University through such gatherings and embracing the culture of the ZITF Cocktail to grow into an annual event.

The Alumni Office would like to thank everyone who contributed, staff, our student volunteers, faculty members, as well as the Office of the Vice Chancellor, and of course everyone who attended. We hope you enjoyed the evening as much as we did!
