Thesis Title: In-situ synthesis of quantum dots in Monolithic ZIF-8 for photocatalytic applications.
Albertina Vashiko graduated with a BSc Honours Degree in Chemical Technology and also possesses a National Certificate in Metallurgical Assaying from the Zimbabwe School of Mines.
Her research interests are centred on the development of advanced functional materials for environmental and energy applications. She is particularly interested in the synthesis and modification of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), nanomaterials, quantum dots, and photocatalysts. Her current research focuses on the “in-situ synthesis of quantum dots within monolithic ZIF-8 structures” to develop highly efficient photocatalytic materials. This work aims to enhance light harvesting, charge separation, and catalytic performance for applications such as pollutant degradation, water treatment, and sustainable environmental remediation
