The Tugwi Mukosi Multidisciplinary Research Institute (TMMRI) had a successful tour of Chimanimani and Chipinge districts The major aim of the trip was to assess the social and economic costs of Cyclone Idai which recently devastated the two districts in a bid to strengthen the national disaster management framework in the aftermath of the disaster. The most severely hit areas were in Chimanimani and these included Ngangu, Ndakopa and Machongwe. The multidisciplinary team visited these areas and consisted of the following members whose permission to visit the districts was granted by the VC;

Individual members of the team are currently drafting their concept notes to come up with data gathering instruments to establish what actually transpired in the districts and the way forward. The team looks forward to publish their findings in the form of a book, journal papers and presentations in seminars, workshops and conferences.
