PALs was appointed by the PRE-eclampsia-Eclampsia Monitoring, Prevention and Treatment (PRE-EMPT) initiative to lead the geospatial analyses for the Community Level Interventions for PreEclampsia (CLIP) trials.  PRE-EMPT is a multi-million-dollar initiative coordinated centrally from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Research Program at the University of British Columbia in Canada.

The objective of this work is;

  1. To assess the spatial epidemiology of adverse maternal and perinatal outcomes from the CLIP trials in India, Pakistan and Mozambique
  2. To identify communities and individual women with less than expected rates of adverse outcomes and determine the characteristics and strategies that promote maternal resilience
  3. To investigate geographical influences on dosage on PIERs on the Move (POM) visits in the CLIP study sites
  4. Create geo-visualizations and animation that communicate progress and impact of the trials in the different CLIP countries
