Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the following post:

FACULTY OF ARTS AND HUMANITIES

Radio Station (Zvishavane Campus)

 Post: Broadcast Technician/Engineer (2 posts)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • An Honours Degree in Electronics/Telecommunications/Information Systems/Computer Science with at least a 2.1 class.
  • At least one year of working experience in a broadcasting set-up
  • A Master’s Degree in Electronics/Telecommunications/Information Systems/Computer Science will be an added advantage.
  • At least one year working experience at an institution of higher learning will be an added advantage.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

The candidate must be capable of maintaining and servicing the technical equipment of the station. Duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Installation and operation of broadcast equipment
  • Maintenance and servicing of broadcast equipment
  • Troubleshooting broadcast transmission problems
  • Application of transmission collapse preventive 
  • Drafting station policies that comply with proper handling and use of broadcast technologies
  • Liaising with external telecommunications service providers
  • Any other relevant duties as may be assigned
