MIDLANDS STATE UNIVERSITY 2024 GRADUATION CEREMONY

1. DATE & VENUE

Please be advised that the Midlands State University 2024 graduation ceremony will be held on Thursday, the 21^st of November 2024 at the Main Campus, Multi-Purpose Hall, in Gweru.

1. SEATING TIME

Graduands and Guests are required to be seated by 0800 hours.

1. GRADUATION FEE AND ACADEMIC REGALIA

Undergraduates: USD 110

Postgraduates: USD115

Doctor of Philosophy: USD240

Graduation fee is payable  in USD or ZIG equivalent

Please ensure that you pay in time for the payment to reflect in the University accounts by the 15^th of November 2024.

1. OUTSTANDING FEES

Please note that only graduands whose fees are paid in full will be allowed to attend the ceremony. The deadline for payment is the 15^th of November 2024.

1. COLLECTION OF ACADEMIC DRESS

Graduands who have fully paid their graduation fees may, upon presentation of proof of payment, collect their graduation regalia from the following locations:

MSU Harare Campus – No 1 Union Avenue

MSU Bulawayo Learning Centre – Fidelity House, Fife Street and 11th Avenue

5th Floor, Office 504

MSU Gweru Main Campus

MSU Industrial Park Gweru

MSU Zvishavane Campus

NB: Graduands are required to present themselves in the recommended academic regalia. For quality assurance purposes, academic regalia is exclusively supplied and distributed by the MSU Enterprises. The University reserves the right to bar graduands who do not have the approved academic regalia from the graduation arena.

1. DRESS

Graduands are required to wear formal attire in dark colours beneath their academic regalia.

1. INVITATIONS

Invitation cards will be available for collection at Faculty offices across all campuses from the 15^th of November 2024.

Please note, that graduands are required to produce their MSU student IDs, National IDs as well as proof of payment for graduation and academic regalia on collection of invitation cards. No invitation cards will be issued on graduation day.

1. GUESTS

Only two guests per graduand with valid invitation cards will be allowed into the Graduation Arena.

1. REHEARSALS

Rehearsals will be held on Wednesday, the 20^th of November 2024 at 1400 hours in the Multi-Purpose Hall at the Gweru Main Campus. It is mandatory for all graduands to attend the rehearsals to participate in the ceremony.

1. PHOTOGRAPHERS

No other photographers will be allowed to take photographs when graduands are being capped or within the University premises except the Midlands State University photographers and those accredited by the University.

A video livestream for the graduation proceedings will be available on the University’s social media platforms.

1. FOOD

Please note that lunch will be served to graduands and their guests.

1. MSU SECURITY CHECKPOINTS

All graduands and their guests will pass through an MSU Security checkpoint where their invitation cards will be verified.

1. TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

Please be advised that the Town–Senga/MSU route will be closed at the Senga turn-off traffic circle after 0900 hours and thereafter all guests and graduands will have to use the Fletcher – MSU route.
