STAFF VACANCY

REGISTRY DEPARTMENT

PRINCIPAL ASSISTANT REGISTRAR – ACADEMIC AFFAIRS (ZVISHAVANE CAMPUS)

Reports to the Deputy Registrar – Academic Affairs

The successful candidate will underpin the Deputy Registrar in providing services in student admission, registration, statistics and academic-related activities directed at the attainment of the University’s mandate.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Commerce, Arts and Humanities.
  • A Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Commerce, Arts and Humanities. 
  • At least five (5) years post-qualifying working experience in a University set-up of which two (2) should have been at an administrative level.

Person Specification 

  • Knowledge of Systems and databases used in Academic Affairs.
  • Very good coordination and conflict resolution skills;
  • Ability to act with integrity and professionalism; 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting the Deputy Registrar in formulating and implementing academic affairs policies as well as monitoring and reviewing of the same;
  • Identifying issues required for policy change;
  • Assisting in ensuring that Policies, Standard Operating Procedures, processes and systems are adhered to by the Academic Affairs Sections in all academic affairs activities. 
  • Monitoring compliance with University policies in the day-to-day activities of the department.
  • Responsible for collecting information for preparation of work plans and reports and ensures timeous submission of the same to the Deputy Registrar, Academic Affairs.
  • Coordinate various academic affairs portfolios managed by the academic affairs officers.
  • Keeping abreast with trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in order to maintain integrity of academic standards of the University.
  • Secretary to University Committees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
