Post A: Administrator (1 Post – Gweru)
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Social Science Degree in Public Administration
- A minimum of three (3) years’ post-qualification experience in Administration.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Servicing meetings, compile and produce minutes of the meetings within 48 hours.
- Maintaining a minute data base both manual and electronic.
- Actively following-up on matters arising and up-date minutes tracker.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records.
- Establishing employee tracking system for effective planning, monitoring and supervision of personnel: Monthly staff audits, Annual leave planner, Sick leave trend analysis, Overtime leave analysis, Compassionate leave analysis, Habitual absenteeism analysis.
- Updating and maintaining asset register, including life-cycle and replacement costs.
- Preparation of budget estimates of the types and quantities of material and equipment needed for routine and seasonal events.
- Generating procurement requisitions. Receiving and issuing the material and equipment as needed or as per policy. Conducting stock reconciliation.
- Spearheading the mechanisation drive for Cleaning section and Ground maintenance and Landscaping section.
- Utilization of allocated budget for the department in compliance with set budgetary levels, PRAZ and other financial regulations.
- Management of vendor/supplier relations.
- Procurement of required PPE as per policy.
- Periodic review of polices and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate in the planning and hosting of University events. Ensure all the required materials and resources are on the ground for the functions.
- Management of all materials and stocks required to undertake effective cleaning services and landscaping services.
- Facilitate staff training as per identified needs.
- Submission of weekly and monthly performance review reports.
- Contributing to the success of the Central Services and Amenities Department by performing all other essential duties as assigned.
- Any other duties assigned by the Director Central Services, Amenities and Maintenance and Deputy Director Maintenance.
Post B: Supervisor Cleaning Services 2 Posts (1 Gweru; 1 Harare)
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality
- 5 Ordinary level passes including English Language
- At least 2 years’ experience supervising cleaning.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Overseeing staff performance on a daily basis.
- Spearheading the mechanisation drive for the cleaning section.
- Ensuring that the University venues meet the prescribed standards of cleanliness, fumigation, and sanitization protocols at all times.
- Training and motivating staff on customer interface, cleaning and maintenance duties, and safe and proper use of PPE; tools, equipment, and chemicals.
- Supervising deep cleaning of venues during vacation.
- Planning employee work schedules, ensuring the most effective utilization of personnel, materials, and equipment, and monitoring and recording the use of labour and supplies.
- Planning leave roaster, managing staff absenteeism, and inculcating discipline and correct work ethics.
- Budgeting estimates of the types and amounts of materials and equipment needed, requesting for their purchase, and issuing the material and equipment as needed.
- Supervising the preparation of venues for routine seasonal/special events, and ensuring that the venues are ready on time and meet the function requirements.
- Inspecting campus indoor sports facilities and reporting needed repairs and maintenance.
- Contributing to the success of the Central Services and Amenities Department by performing all other essential duties as assigned.
- Supervising the consistent replenishment of reservoir water supplies.
- Submission of weekly and monthly performance review reports.

Post C: Artisan Supervisor: Building
Qualifications and Experience
- Class One Journeyman Certificate in Building.
- A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in relevant field

Duties and Responsibilities
The Artisan Supervisor is required to carry out the following duties:
- Allocating duties to Artisans in their Trade Section.
- Producing weekly and monthly reports of maintenance works.
- Raising material requisitions for approval by the Director Central Services, Amenities and Maintenance to carry out construction and maintenance works.
- Carrying out comprehensive maintenance requirements/assessments for University buildings and infrastructure.
- Assisting the Senior Artisan (Maintenance) to prepare a face lifting and renovation plan for existing University buildings and infrastructure.
- Assisting the Senior Artisan Supervisor (Maintenance) in the compilation of budgets for Maintenance activities before the beginning of each semester or year.
- Supervising Artisans and subcontractors working on various maintenance works of the University.
- Submission of weekly and monthly performance review reports.
- Any other duties assigned by the Director Central Services, Amenities and Maintenance and Deputy Director Maintenance.
Post D: Charge Hand – Cleaning Services– (1 Post – Gweru)
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality.
- 5 O level passes including English Language.
- At least 1 year post-qualification experience in cleaning services.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Carrying out cleaning duties daily. Ensure that the university venues meet the prescribed standards of cleanliness, sanitization and fumigation protocols at all times.
- Supervise deep cleaning of venues during vacation
- Ensuring safe and proper use of PPE, tools, equipment, machinery and chemicals.
- In charge of safety and security of teaching and learning venues, offices, conference rooms and public halls.
- Ensuring all teaching and learning venues, offices, conference rooms and public halls are accessed timeously when need arises.
- Ensure all teaching and learning venues, offices, conference rooms and public halls are locked after use.
- Ensure all university furniture is kept safely in good state and in the right place.
- Carry out inventory of all broken furniture and facilitate repairs and coordinate maintenance issues.
- Report broken windows, doors, ablution facilities, floors, ceiling, electrical etc
- Ensure all teaching and learning venues have the required furniture.
- Implement standard operating procedures and policies.
- Conduct routine/daily issuing, recording and reconciliation of stocks/consumables/tool and equipment.
- Contributing to the success of the Central Services and Amenities Department by performing all other essential duties as assigned.
Post E Assistant Carpenter (1 Post – Gweru)
Qualifications and Experience
- Artisan Class 2 or 3 Carpentry and Joinery
- At least 2 year’s experience as a carpenter

Duties and Responsibilities
The Carpenter is responsible for the following duties:
- Reading and interpreting blueprints
- Assisting supervisors with structural design, planning, layout, and installation
- Carrying out all the carpentry repairs and maintenance on all buildings of the University
- Carrying out all carpentry repairs and maintenance of furniture e.g. chairs, desks, shelves, cupboards, cabinets etc for the University
- Carrying out all new carpentry works on buildings, furniture and facilities whenever this is not out-sourced
- Assessing and producing carpentry maintenance requirements for all University buildings and furniture on a regular basis
- Conducting repair work and installation of doors, windows, cabinets, balustardes, and other fixtures as required
- Assessing the quality of woodwork and materials
- Operating tools, machines, and other equipment
- Ensuring compliance with local building codes, and health and safety regulations
- Contributing to the success of the Central Services and Amenities Department by performing all other essential duties as assigned.
Post F: Builder/Brick Layer (1 Post – Gweru)
Qualifications and Experience
- Class 1 Builder’s Certificate
- At least two years of working experience as a Builder
- Competence in tiling will be an added advantage
Duties and Responsibilities
The Builder / Bricklayer is responsible for the following duties:
- Interpretation of working drawing
- Carrying out construction activity on assigned projects: brick and block laying, plastering, and tiling.
- Assisting supervisors with structural design, planning, layout, and installation
- Carrying out renovations and refurbishments.
General maintenance of buildings. - Adhering to building by-laws in all construction work.
- Any related duties as may be assigned by the Director Central Services, Amenities, and Maintenance.
Post G: Welder: (2 Posts- Gweru)
Qualifications and Experience
- Artisan Welder Class 1
- At least 2 years’ experience working as a welder
Skills and Competences

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities
- Unloading scaffolding equipment on-site.
- Ensuring a stable base for scaffolding.
- Erecting scaffolding poles.
- Fixing scaffolding to buildings or structures.
- Laying planks for workers to walk on.
- Fixing guard rails and safety netting.
- Dismantling scaffolding when a project is complete.
- Performs any other duties as may be assigned by Management.
Post J: Plumber (1 Post – Harare)
Qualifications and experience
- Artisan Class 1
- Minimum of 2 year’s experience as a plumber.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Carrying out plumbing repairs and maintenance on all University buildings.
- Carrying out plumbing repairs (maintenance of water and sewer lines for the University).
- Cleaning gutters and down pipes for all university buildings, before the onset of the rains each year and during the rainy season.
- Carrying out plumbing installations on new or existing buildings.
- Constructing and laying new water and sewer lines for the University.
- Checking and ensuring that all areas of the University receive water with enough pressure.
- Performing any other plumbing duties assigned by the Director Projects and Maintenance.
Post K: Assistant Plumber (1 Post- Harare)
Qualifications and Experience
- Artisan Plumber Class 2 or 3
- At least 2 years as semi-skilled Plumber.

Assisting the Plumber in performing the following:
- Carrying out plumbing repairs and maintenance on all University buildings.
