Mr. I.D. Ndongwe is a lecturer in the Department of History, Heritage and International Studies, Midlands State University. He holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree in History from the University of Iowa, USA, a Master of Arts degree in African Economic History, University of Zimbabwe, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Economic History, University of Zimbabwe.  Mr. Ndongwe has served as an assistant lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe and the University of Iowa before he accepted his current appointment at MSU.

Research Interests:

  • Urban Black Nationalism and Decolonization in Africa,
  • Conservation and Colonialism
  • Histories of Race, Identity and International Students in Higher Education.

Conference Papers:

  • Urban Protest, Politics of Responsibility, and the Construction of the Hooligan: A Study of the 1956 Salisbury Bus Boycott, a paper presented at the Young Scholars Initiative (YSI) North American Convention, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA, February 2019.
