AMBULANCE TECHNICIAN (2 POSTS)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Class 2 or 4 Drivers licence
• Valid Defensive Driving certificate.
• Ambulance Technician certificate. With current practising certificate registered with AHPCZ.
• Valid First Aid Certificate/CPR Certificate is a requirement
• A minimum of five (5) O-levels, including English Language, Maths and Science.
• Candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years’ Emergency Medical Technicians experience.
• Knowledge of radio transmission codes would be an added advantage.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Driving an ambulance and in transporting the sick, injured, or convalescing persons
• Placing patients on stretchers and loading stretchers into ambulances usually with the assistance of other attendants
• Administering first aid such as bandaging, splinting, and administering oxygen.
• Escorting patients to hospitals.
• Emergency medical care and basic life support.
• Ambulance technology and traumatology.
• Safely transporting patients to medical facility for further treatment.
• Maintain medical equipment in the Ambulance in good working condition.
