Team MSU put up a show to remember on the final day of the 2016 Zimbabwe Tertiary Institutions Sports Union games, to cement the institution’s reputation as a centre of unparalleled sporting excellence in tertiary sport, in Zimbabwe.

Representing the Zimbabwe Universities Sports Association (ZUSA), athletes from Midlands State University took to the field on the final day seeking to add to an already impressive medal haul. The team did not disappoint, winning medals across the board, to leave an indelible mark on the games.

The women’s soccer team showed the way, winning gold in a tense final before the men’s football team also won gold in style by beating Westgate Training College by 2 goals to nil. Not to be outshone were the pool teams, with the men winning gold while the ladies won silver.

The men’s basketball team also won gold, as did the men’s table tennis team in a development that contributed in no small way to Team ZUSA emerging eventual winners in the games. Winning teams will represent Zimbabwe in the forthcoming Council of Universities and Colleges Sports Association (CUCSA) games to be held in Bulawayo in August.

We congratulate Team MSU and their ZUSA colleagues for a job well done in the ZTISU games. They are, without doubt, the Special Ones.
