In a bid to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing, the Library Department of Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) paid a familiarisation visit to the Midlands State University (MSU) Medical School Library on November 16, 2023, at the Gweru Main Campus.

Upon arrival, MSU Librarian, Ms. N. P. Chibanda welcomed the CUT delegation and expressed her delight in working with Chinhoyi University of Technology.

She highlighted the importance of sharing experiences and information between the two institutions, particularly in the field of library services.

In his remarks, CUT-Acting Librarian, Dr. D. Shangwa expressed gratitude to MSU for hosting the visit, calling it an opportunity for CUT’s Library Department to engage, learn, and benchmark.

Ms. Chibanda provided an overview of MSU’s state-of-the-art libraries, which are strategically placed across all campuses.

She highlighted the University’s commitment to providing quality information by investing in electronic resources, resulting in a comprehensive library system.

Following the overview, MSU Library team presented their digital resources, acquisition processes, and client services.

This session allowed for open discussions, enabling the two institutions to share their experiences and learn from each other.

The familiarisation visit concluded with a tour of MSU’s Medical and Law libraries, led by Ms. Chibanda.

This visit demonstrates Midlands State University’s commitment to fostering collaborative relationships and promoting knowledge sharing in the field of library services.
