The Midlands State University is calling for abstracts for a hybrid conference under the theme “Transforming Business Practice Through Human Resource Analytics in Organisations

 

THEME: TRANSFORMING BUSINESS PRACTICE THROUGH HUMAN RESOURCE ANALYTICS IN ORGANISATIONS

 

Conference Rationale

A global phenomenon has been observed where organizations are shifting to use of data science and business analytics in order to enhance business effectiveness and efficiency. It is therefore imperative to enhance the development of human capital and the harnessing of technology in order to close the skills gap in both developing and developed countries. There are growing calls to advance understanding especially around the role of Human Resource Analytics (HRA) within the contemporary world of work.

 

Sub Themes

  • Human Capital Value Addition through Human Resource Analytics: recruitment and selection analytics, corporate culture analytics, employment relations analytics, employee behavior analytics, leadership analytics, performance management analytics, gender analytics and green human resource management and sustainable development.
  • Technology and the transformation of work in a post-industrial society: artificial intelligence, technology and flexible work, technology and the changing nature of work for example, the shift from manual to automated work and its effect on workers and work processes and technology and outsourcing of work, technology and work-life merge.
  • Improving workplace safety through Human Resource Analytics: causes, occurrence and prevention of accidents, behavior based safety management, workplace mental health, stress management and substance abuse at workplace.
  • The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) and Human Resource Management (HRM) Nexus: implications of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) in Public Sector Human Resource Management practices, emerging HRM roles and technological skills requirements in the 4IR era, integrating Management Information Systems in contemporary Human Resource Management functions in Public Sector and cybersecurity, digital employment records management and social media prevalence and workplace productivity.

  • Abstract up to 250 words
  • Paper type: empirical and review papers up to 6000 words excluding tables, figures and references
  • Font type: Times New Roman, Font size: 12 and Spacing 1.5
  • All papers should be written in English
  • Referencing style: American Psychological Association (APA) format

  • Conference dates: 25 – 26 April 2024
  • Final submission of abstracts:                         31 January 2024
  • Decision on acceptance of abstracts:             9 February 2024
  • Final submission of full paper (6000 words): 31 March 2024
  • Registration opens: 14 February 2024
  • Payment and registration deadline:             1 March 2024

  • Non-presenters pay 80% of the amount charged per each category (up to registration deadline)
