On the 15th of February 2024, Midlands State University – Student Affairs Division’s Chaplaincy department held an induction program for students on employment at the Gweru Main Campus.
Giving her welcome remarks, Rev. Revai Chinodakufa highlighted that since the University is a ‘second home’ for students, it is committed to creating a comfortable and safe environment for all students despite their financial and social backgrounds.
‘‘The MSU Student on Employment program is an embodiment of Psalm 124:1,’’ said Rev. Chinodakufa.
Acting Sports Coordinator, Mr. Velaphi Mkandhla, gave an overview of the program, encouraging students to learn professionalism and working ethics during their tenure under the Student on Employment program in different departments across the University.
The common theme across, successive presentations from various departmental representatives was the importance of committing to the University’s core values.
After the presentations, the platform was opened for a question-and-answer segment with responses coming from supervisors from Catering Services, Central Services, Amenities & Maintenance, Agriculture, Human Resources, Information & Technology Services, Library Services, Bursary, Counselling Services, and Health Services.
