Gweru, Graduate School of Business Leadership – Cooks for the Certificate in Food Preparation and Catering Competencies, short course offered by Midlands State University’s Faculty of Education, Department of Science, Technology and Design Education, received certificates of completion on the 12th of April 2024.
Delivering her remarks on the sidelines of the event, the Acting Dean – Faculty of Education, Dr. A. Moyo underscored the University’s commitment in achieving social health for a knowledge-driven economy.
‘‘As an institution of higher learning we have been called to contribute in the attainment of national goals which are a paradigm that align education with sustainability, human centeredness, innovation and collaboration,” said Dr. Moyo.
The Acting Dean further noted that the short course is aimed at equipping communities with health-conscious experts in the food industry.
The certificate issuing ceremony was a joyous celebration, filled with lively ululations and dancing merriments, all set to the uplifting tunes of Roman Catholic soul-stirring songs, making it the highlight of the event.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive Dean, Dr. Mashingaidze congratulated the graduates for their achievement and encouraged them to continue with the same spirit of lifelong learning.
The graduation ceremony was a momentous occasion, celebrated with great enthusiasm and pride, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of the cooks, equipped with the knowledge and skills to make a positive impact in the food industry and contribute to a healthier community.
