Midlands State University recently participated in the 2024 National Disability Expo held from July 10-12 2024, in Bindura, showcasing its commitment to inclusivity across the University community.

Vice President Kembo Mohadi officially opened the three-day event under the theme, “Accelerating the Attainment of Vision 2030 Disability Empowerment Targets for Enhanced Inclusive Sustainable Development”.

He affirmed the government’s pledge to empower people living with disabilities through inclusive policies.

Drawn from across the country, participants networked at the expo held at Chipadze Stadium.

MSU took the opportunity to publicise support services offered through the Disability Resource Centre and the National Language Institute’s Special Needs Section.

Students particularly shone through demonstrations of their skills and contributions to national progress.

Knowledge exchange also occurred between exhibitors on disability issues.

The expo aligned with Zimbabwe’s National Disability Policy addressing marginalisation.

At MSU, the Disability Resource Centre ensures effective involvement of persons with disabilities in all campus activities through support programs.

MSU cultivates an amenable environment empowering disabled students and staff to equally participate in university life.

The expo highlighted these ongoing efforts to facilitate inclusion as a hallmark of the institution’s inclusive philosophy.
