As part of its efforts to enhance quality and upholding academic integrity, Midlands State University’s Quality Assurance and Professional Development (QAPD) held a blended examination invigilation workshop on the 17th of October 2024 at Gweru Main Campus.
Attended by examination facilitators from across departments and faculties, the workshop outlined stipulated examination rules and regulations for the smooth running of the process.
Delivering welcome remarks on behalf of Executive Director QAPD – Professor A. S. Chiromo, Deputy Director – Professional Development, Dr. W. Matsa underscored the importance of the workshop in maintaining the quality and integrity of the overall examination process.
“The essence of this workshop is to equip invigilators and administrative staff with the requisite knowledge in the administration process of examinations for the smooth running of the process,” she stated.
The workshop provided a platform for presentations on the role of the Examination Office, what is expected of students and checkpoint administrative staff, examination preparation, invigilation guidelines and the importance of time management by examination facilitators and candidates.
A question and answer segment allowed participants to seek clarity and raise concerns on examination invigilation related issues.
In his closing remarks, Senior Assistant Librarian, Mr. R. Masimbiti commended participants for their unwavering commitment to uphold the integrity of the examination processes.
Workshops of this nature highlight the University’s dedication to quality and integrity of its examination processes.
