The Vice Chancellor of Midlands State University, Professor V. N. Muzvidziwa, the University Council, Senate, Staff and entire Student body extend their most profound congratulations to the Chairperson of the Midlands State University Council, Mrs. M. E. Mwamuka, on her distinguished recognition as 1st Runner Up for the Best University Council Chairperson of the Year at the prestigious Presidential Performance Awards held on 16 March 2026.
This accolade serves as a resounding testament to her formidable oversight of governance at our premier institution—a sanctuary entrusted with the sacred duty of human capital development to propel Zimbabwe toward an upper-middle-income economy by 2030, as envisioned in the National Development Strategies. Under her astute guidance, the University has transcended traditional boundaries, evolving into a bastion of innovation and commercialisation. Through her unwavering resolve have emerged transformative milestones, such as the completion of the Pittscottie Dam, the inauguration of the E. D. Mnangagwa Law School, and life-changing community projects in Chirumhanzu.
Mrs. Mwamuka’s leadership transcends infrastructure development; she has woven the golden threads of integrity, accountability, and robust governance into the very fabric of our institutional culture. While these achievements align seamlessly with the national vision of His Excellency the President, Cde. Dr. E. D. Mnangagwa, they further establish the foundation for the pursuit of NDS2 objectives, ensuring that Midlands State University remains a steadfast vanguard of national progress.
The University remains honoured to serve under a Chairperson who seamlessly merges executive precision with the moral authority required to steer our institution toward the horizons of the national vision.
