Midlands State University (MSU), through the Postgraduate Studies Office and the Graduate School of Business Leadership, hosted a Doctor of Business Leadership (DBL) Viva Voce (Oral Examination) for Mr. Joseph Dube on 6 May 2026
The viva voce brought together academics, postgraduate scholars, industry stakeholders, and members of the university community in a rigorous scholarly engagement centred on infrastructure governance, sustainability, and development policy in Zimbabwe.
Mr. Dube presented his doctoral thesis titled: “Zimbabwe Public-Private Partnership Road Infrastructure Frameworks: Institutional Perspectives on Policy, Governance, and Sustainability.”
The study examined the institutional, governance, and policy dimensions shaping Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) within Zimbabwe’s road infrastructure sector. The research contributes significantly to ongoing debates on infrastructure financing, institutional accountability, sustainability, and developmental governance within emerging economies.
Mr. Dube’s research was supervised by Professor M. Sibanda of the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, and Dr. T. Sibanda of Midlands State University.
The hosting of the viva voce reflects Midlands State University’s continued commitment to advancing doctoral scholarship, policy-oriented research, and academic excellence that addresses contemporary socio-economic and developmental challenges facing Zimbabwe and the broader African continent.
