DEGREE PROGRAMMES REQUIREMENTS
Faculty of Agriculture, Environment and Natural Resources Management  
Bachelor of Science Honours in Agronomy - 4 years Agriculture/Biology and any Science
Bachelor of Science Honours in Agricultural Economics and Development - 4 years Agriculture, Mathematics, Economics, Management of Business, Sociology, Accounts, Geography and Biology
Bachelor of Science Honours in Land and Water Resources Management- 4 years Biology, Agriculture and any Sciences
Bachelor of Science Honours in Animal and Wildlife Sciences - 4 years Biology, Agriculture and any Sciences
Bachelor of Science Honours in Horticulture - 4 years Biology, Chemistry and any Sciences
Master of Science in Crop Production -2 years To be eligible for the programme, a candidate must be a holder of a good first degree in Agronomy, Horticulture or Crop Production or related fields from recognized University
Faculty of Arts and Humanities  
English as a Foreign Language (EFL) – 6 months To be eligible for the English language an international student from non-English speaking educational backgrounds shall take an English Language Proficiency Test. Depending on proficiency level ascertained by the test, students may be admitted directly to their chosen programmes of study or be required to take an Intensive English Language (EFL) programme lasting a minimum of one semester prior to starting their chosen study programme.
English for Academic Purposes (EAP)- 6 months All Level 1 International Students will be required to register with a designated tutor for English for Academic Purposes (EAP) support. This support will focus on assignments and presentations
Bachelor of Arts in History and International Studies Honours Degree - 4 years History and any Arts/Humanities
Faculty of Business Sciences  
Bachelor of Commerce in Business Management – 4 years Management of Business, plus and two Commercial subjects
Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Digital Banking – 4 years A’ Level Mathematics or Economics, plus and two Commercial subjects
Bachelor of Commerce in Logistics and Supply Chain – 4 years Two A’ level passes in any subjects
Bachelor of Commerce in Information Systems – 4years A’ level passes in at least two of the following subjects Management of Business, Accounting, Economics and Mathematics or equivalent
Bachelor of Commerce in Economics and Economic Modelling – 4 years At least two A’ level passes from Commercial Sciences or Arts Subjects

Pass on Level Mathematics must be at least B

Bachelor of Commerce in Tourism and Hospitality Management – 3 years

 

2 A’ level passes in any subject

Relevant National Diploma or HND In Tourism and Hospitality, Customer Care, Marketing, Professional Cookery, Tour Guiding

Proof of employment in any tourism related or hospitality organisation

Bachelor Commerce in Insurance and Risk Management – 3 years

 

At least two passes in relevant A level subjects

A diploma or Advanced Diploma in Insurance

National Diploma /HND in Business Studies

Any other equivalent tertiary qualification

Proof of employment

Master of Commerce in Strategic Management and Corporate Governance – 2 years

 

An Honours Degree in Management, Accounting, Human Resources Management, Economics, Tourism, Insurance and Risk Management, Development Studies and or other Tertiary qualifications approved by department.
Master of Commerce in Tourism and Hospitality Enterprises Management -2 years A good Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management or any equivalent qualifications
Bachelor Commerce in Insurance and Risk Management – 3 years

 

At least 2 A’ level passes, A diploma or advanced diploma in Insurance

National Diploma or HND in Business Studies

OR any other equivalent tertiary qualifications or proof of employment

Faculty of Education  
Bachelor of Education in Educational Leadership, Management and Development – 2 years Having a teaching qualification approved by the university. Normally be employed as a full-time teacher / administrator in an approved school or college
Bachelor of Education Honours in History - 4 years At least two A ‘level passes in relevant subject
Bachelor of Education Honours in Biology- 4 years At least two A’ level passes in relevant subject
Bachelor of Education Honours in English - 4years At least two A’ level passes in relevant subject
Master of Education in Educational Leadership, Management and Development-1 ½years Bachelor of Education degree or its equivalent or a post graduate Diploma in Education from accredited institution
Faculty of Law  
Bachelor of Laws Honours Degree (LLB) - 5years Two A ‘Level passes in English Literature / History, Arts / Humanities with B or better
Faculty of Science and Technology  
Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Telecommunications Engineering - 4 years Two A’ level passes in Physics and Mathematics and any other Science subject
Bachelor of Science in Applied Biosciences and Biotechnology - 4 years Two A’ level passes in Biology, Mathematics and Chemistry
Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Food Science and Technology - 4 years Any two A’ level passes in Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry or Food Science
Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Computer Sciences - 4 years Two A’ level passes in Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science
Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Industrial Chemistry -4 years Any two A’ level passes in Chemistry and any Sciences
Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Geomatics specializing in Land Surveying or Geographical Information Sciences - 4 years Two A’ level passes in Physics and Mathematics
Faculty of Social Sciences  
Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Local Governance and Management - 4 years Commercials, Sciences or Humanities
Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management - 4 years Two A’ level passes in Arts/ Humanities
Bachelor of Science in Public Management and Governance - 4 years Two A’ level passes in Arts/ Humanities
Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Sociology and Social Policy - 4 years

 

Two A’ level passes in Sociology and any other subjects in Arts/ Humanities
Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Psychology -4 years

 

At least 5 O’ level passes including English and Mathematics and a relevant Science subject at Grade C or better / National Foundation Certificate plus a minimum of any Two relevant A level passes or any other relevant National Certificate
Master of Science in Human Resources Management- 1½years

 

Applicants must be a holder of good Honours Degree in Human Resource Management or any related fields
Graduate School of Business Leadership  
Master in Business Administration –Block Release - 2 years Applicants should be at least 25 years of age and be a holder of at least a second-class degree or its equivalent

At least 2 years of relevant experience

Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA)-Block release -2 years

 

Applicants should be at least 35 years of age and be an Executive of their own business or have been a manager for at least 5 years

Must be holders of at least a second-class degree or its equivalent

A holder of a third-class degree or its equivalent may be admitted only after providing evidence of academic maturity in the desired field of study as shall be judge by the Faculty Post Graduate studies Committee

Faculty of Mining Science  
Bachelor of Engineering Honours Degree in Metallurgical and Material Engineering - 5 years 2 A’ levels in Mathematics and Chemistry

Applicants with recognised with Diplomas in Mining Engineering, Geology, Metallurgy, Metallurgical Assaying or Mine Surveying will be considered

Bachelor of Engineering in Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering - 5 years 2 A’ levels in Mathematics and Physics and any Sciences
Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical and Processing Honours Degree - 5 years 2 A’ levels in Mathematics and Chemistry and any Sciences
School of Social Work  
Bachelor of Science in Social Work - 4 years  5 O’ level passes including English Language
Master of Science in Social Work - years

 

Good honours degree in Social Work or equivalent
