The Department of Applied Physics & Telecommunications prepares students for academic and industrial careers at the forefront of engineering, science and technology. Teaching and research spans from basic physics underlying most engineering developments, to cutting-edge application fields such as wireless communications, optoelectronics, semiconductor devices, nanotechnologies, energy conversion, and instrumentation. The thrust of the Department is to produce professional scientists, engineers and researchers who are able to analyse complex problems and come up with creative and innovative solutions.
