MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT 

MARKET INTELLIGENCE OFFICER (1 POST- GWERU)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Strategic Brand Management or Consumer Marketing Intelligence 
  • A certificate in digital marketing is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience in market research, business intelligence, corporate strategy, or data analysis, preferably within a corporate or higher education setting.
  • Proven (candidate portfolio) proficiency in data visualisation tools, statistical software, and digital analytics platforms.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct continuous competitor benchmarking and market analysis within the regional and international higher education sectors.
  • Monitor, track, and report on competitor marketing campaigns, digital positioning, program offerings, and pricing structures.
  • Gather and analyze empirical data on student demographics, shifting enrollment trends, and consumer preferences to inform recruitment strategies.
  • Undertake market viability assessments for proposed academic programmes and institutional projects.
  • Design and execute market research instruments, including student satisfaction surveys and stakeholder feedback mechanisms.
  • Translate complex datasets into clear, concise, and structured analytical reports and dashboards for executive management.
  • Collaborate with the digital media team to evaluate the reach, impact, and return on investment (ROI) of marketing and communication interventions.

  • Outstanding analytical capabilities with a demonstrated capacity to synthesize large volumes of qualitative and quantitative data into clear executive insights.
  • Impeccable command of written and spoken English, adhering to high standards of professional communication.
  • Strong understanding of contemporary higher education trends, digital search behavior, and consumer insights.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, high ethical standards, and the ability to work objectively with complex institutional metrics.
