Please note that the duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:

(a) Teaching – the incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.

(b) University Service and Community engagement – the incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences and seminars, among others.

(c) Research – the incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.

(d) Innovations – leading to tangible products and services

(e) Industrialisation –through commercialisation of products

  1. FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE, ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

Post A: Teaching Assistant/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor– Environmental Science and Technology (2 Posts)

          Qualifications

  • BSc Honours in Environmental Science and Technology, Applied Environmental Science or any other related field with at least a 2.1 pass
  • MSc degree in Environmental Science and Technology, Environmental Chemistry, Environmental Ecotoxicology, Natural Resources Management, or any other relevant discipline
  • PhD in Environmental Science and Technology discipline is an added advantage
  • Evidence of published research in the relevant field is an added advantage
  • Teaching experience at tertiary level will be an added advantage

Duties & Responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of supervising undergraduate students’ research work, assess students on Work Related Learning and teaching the following modules in Environmental Science and Technology:

  • Environmental Chemistry; Soil Biology and biochemistry; Environmental Law,
  • Environmental Biotechnology and Bioremediation; Environmental Ecotoxicology; Environmental Modelling,
  • Risk and Disaster Management; Environmental and Social Impact Assessment,
  • Solid and Hazardous Waste Management;

Post B: Teaching Assistant/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor– Land and Water Resources Management (2 Posts)

Qualifications

  • BSc Honours in Land and Water Resources Management or any other related field with at least a 2.1 pass
  • MSc degree in Land and Water Resources Management or any other relevant discipline
  • PhD in Land and Water Resources Management or any related discipline is an added advantage
  • Evidence of published research in the relevant field is an added advantage
  • Teaching experience at tertiary level will be an added advantage

Duties & Responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of supervising undergraduate students’ research work, assess students on Work Related Learning and teaching the following modules in Land and Water Resources Management:

Irrigation Planning and Evaluation; Irrigation Systems Design; Applied Watershed Management; Rainwater Harvesting; Soil and Water Conservation; Principles of Irrigation; and Water Engineering.
