Please note that the duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:

(a) Teaching – the incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.

(b) University Service and Community engagement – the incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences and seminars, among others.

(c) Research – the incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.

(d) Innovations – leading to tangible products and services

(e) Industrialisation –through commercialisation of products

FACULTY OF ARTS AND HUMANITIES

Department of Development Studies

Post A: Lecturer (Full Time – Harare Campus).

Qualifications

  • Degree in Development Studies or equivalent with at least a 2.1 pass.
  • Masters’ Degree in Development Studies or equivalent (Merit or distinction).
  • PhD in Development Studies or relevant field is an added advantage.
  • A good track record in research and publication.
  • 3 years teaching experience at higher education level or strong development programming experience.

Duties and responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of supervising students’ research work and should be able to teach at least five (5) of the following modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level:

  • Financial Management for Development Practitioners
  • International Relations
  • International Trade and Development
  • Development Accounting and Finance
  • Development Planning
  • Globalisation and Development
  • ICT for Development Practitioners
  • Famines and food security
  • Energy and development
  • Data analytics for Development processes
  • Research methods for development
  • International processes for change and development
