Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the following post:
PROJECTS DEPARTMENT
POST: DEPUTY DIRECTOR
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- BEng (Honors) in Structural Engineering/BSc Honors Degree in Civil Engineering/ Bachelor of Architectural Studies Honors Degree.
- A Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 6 years post-qualification experience in high-rise buildings.
- Possession of a clean class 4 Driver’s license.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
- Analyze plans, survey reports, maps and other data related to project design.
- Consider regulations, site selection, and other factors relevant to a project.
- Analyze the results of tests on soil and building materials.
- Prepare cost estimates for equipment.
- Submit permit applications to local, and state, as needed, and confirm that projects comply with regulations.
- Perform or oversee surveying to establish building locations, site layouts, grades, and elevations to guide construction.
- Manage the construction of buildings from start to finish.
- Understanding of design techniques and experience in developing models and charts.
- This ensures that the structure complies with state and central building regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and control projects from the design stage through to completion and handover.
- Liaise with contractors and consultants onsite to ensure compliance with specifications and proper execution of construction procedures.
- Direct construction inspection, project supervision, and monitoring activities.
- Maintain Gantt chart for each project.
- Receive and record construction drawings issued.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports as directed.
- Ensure adherence to site and occupational health and safety measures.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Projects.
