STAFF VACANCY 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the following posts:

MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS 

POST B: DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS GRADUATE INTERN (1 POST – GWERU)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • A degree in English and Communication or Media and Society Studies.
  • Recent completion (two years or under) of the above-stated degree(s) is preferred 
  • Applicants must be 25 years old and below

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a keen eye for grammar and detail.
  • Ability to draft and proofread clear, engaging content for different audiences.
  • Basic understanding of corporate communications, public relations, and media.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Eagerness to learn about content management systems and social media platforms.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to build professional relationships.
  • A creative, proactive approach and a willingness to receive training and feedback.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Content Support: Assist in writing, editing, and proofreading a variety of content, including news articles, internal newsletters, and draft press releases.
  • Media & News Monitoring: Help research and compile news clippings, media mentions, and coverage reports related to the University.
  • Administrative Support: Provide logistical and administrative support for communications projects, events, and meetings.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Assist in liaising with internal departments to gather information for communications materials.
  • Learning & Development: Undergo structured training to develop skills in corporate communications, public relations, and brand management.
  • General Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Communications Manager or senior team members.
