E-Learning Developer (1 Post)
Qualifications and Experience
- Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in IT/ Computer Science/ Software Engineering/ Information Systems (or a related field) from a recognised university.
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years proven experience in LMS administration or LMS user support (e.g., Moodle, Google Classroom or an equivalent LMS).
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years proven experience programming in PHP, Python, or JavaScript using at least one framework (e.g., Laravel, Django, Flask, Node.js/Express).
- Must have a minimum of one (2) year proven experience administering or supporting Linux-based systems/servers.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the University Learning Management System (LMS)
- Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot integrations between the LMS and the Student Portal and other university systems (SSO, enrolment synchronisation, APIs), ensuring data accuracy and availability.
- Develop and maintain basic scripts/automation tools to support LMS operations
- Provide second-line technical support for staff and students on LMS-related issues; diagnose incidents, resolve faults, escalate where necessary, and document solutions.
- Support semester readiness activities: course rollover, template deployment, access configuration, and pre-launch checks.
- Prepare and update user guides/FAQs and support staff training sessions when required.
- Generate routine operational and usage reports (platform uptime, adoption, activity, sync status) to support management decision-making.
- Contribute to LMS quality standards by ensuring minimum course setup requirements are met (structure, naming conventions, availability, assessment setup) prior to go-live.
