STAFF VACANCY

The duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:

(a) Teaching – the incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.

(b) University Service and Community engagement– the incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences and seminars, among others.

(c) Research – the incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.

(d) Innovations – leading to tangible products and services 

(e)Industrialisation –through commercialisation of products

FACULTY OF BUSINESS SCIENCES

Department of Accounting Sciences

  • Programme: Applied Accounting and Audit & Risk Management

Post: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (1 Post) Full Time 

Qualification 

  • Must have an honours first degree in Accounting or Audit and Risk Management with at least 2.1 pass. 
  • Must have a Master’s Degree in Accounting or Forensic Auditing and Accounting.
  • A relevant Doctorate Degree is an added advantage.
  • Membership to a Professional Board such as ICAZ, ACCA, CPA and CIMA is an added advantage. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

The successful candidate should be able to supervise students’ research, assess students on Work Related Learning, and should be able to teach at least three (3) of the following modules: Practical Accounting Software (Preferably Pastel), Cyber-crime and digital forensics, Big data analytics and financial reporting.

  • Programme: Finance and Digital Banking

Post: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (1 Post) Full Time 

Qualification 

  • Must have an honours first degree in Information technology, Computer science, Data science or equivalent with at least a 2.1 pass. 
  • Must have a Masters’ degree in Finance and Digital Banking, Financial engineering, Finance and investment or equivalent.
  • A relevant Doctorate Degree is an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities 

The successful candidate should be able to supervise students’ research, assess students on Work Related Learning, and should be able to teach at least three (3) of the following modules: Programming in finance and banking, SQL for financial data, Financial analytics and machine learning, Financial modelling and forecasting.

  • Programme: Finance and Digital Banking

Post: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (1 Post) Full Time 

Qualification 

  • Must have an honours first degree in Finance and Digital Banking or equivalent with at least a 2.1 pass. 
  • Must have a Masters’ degree in Finance and Digital Banking or equivalent.
  • A relevant Doctorate Degree is an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities 

The successful candidate should be able to supervise students’ research, assess students on Work Related Learning, and should be able to teach at least three (3) of the following modules: Financial engineering, Advanced financial econometrics, 

Monetary systems and digital finance, Investment analysis and portfolio management.
