STAFF VACANCY

MIDLANDS STATE UNIVERSITY ENTERPRISE DIVISION 

QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER (X1) POST

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a BSc degree in Biological Science/ Food science/Biotechnology/ Chemical Technology or related field
  • A Master’s degree in Biological Science/ Food science/Biotechnology/ Chemical Technology or related field is an added advantage.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in the field of Quality Assurance
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (such as ISO 9000, CQE, CQM, etc.). 

 ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful applicant will be responsible for the following, among other duties:

  • Determining, negotiating and agreeing on in-house quality procedures Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), standards and specifications for the manufacturing operations.
  • Assessing and monitoring the performance of the MSU Enterprises manufacturing operations to ensure that the agreed quality standards are met.
  • Specifying the quality of raw materials to be used as inputs at the production Units.
  • Investigating and setting standards for quality, health and safety for the MSU Enterprises. 
  • Determining the training needs that will enable the manufacturing and distribution operations to meet the agreed quality standard.
  • Create reports to track progress.
  • Formulate strategies to increase productivity.
  • Review processes in order to ensure that they align with current trends
