Dr Amanda Tapiwa Mugadza holds a Doctor of Laws Degree (LLD) in International Aspects of Law specializing in Environmental Law and Governance from the North West University (Potchefstroom) South Africa. She also holds a Master of Laws Degree in Environmental Law and Governance, with specific focus on Environmental Governance and Planning, Climate Change Law and Governance, International & Regional Environmental Law and Environmental Planning Law, a Bachelor of Laws Honours Degree and Baccalaureaus Juris Degree. Amanda also holds a and Diploma in Secondary Education from the Belvedere Technical Teachers’ College. Her skills and experience are in legal research and training for law and policy development in her areas of expertise, namely Environmental Law and Governance, Environmental Rights, Climate Governance and Justice, in Zimbabwe and the region.

She joined the Faculty of Law as a Lecturer where she teaches and supervises research in Environmental Law, International Law and Legal Research Methodology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She has taken on the role of Dissertation Coordinator for Undergraduate Studies. Amanda is also the Editing Manager of the Midlands State University Law Review. She also has served as the Deputy Dean of the Faculty. Amanda enjoys taking up challenges that stretch her professional parameters. She is a passionate educator and leader who takes pride in her work and thrives on the success of her peers and students.
