Midlands State University recently participated at the Zvishavane Business Expo, which was held from the 30th of June to the 1st of July 2017 in Zvishavane.

The Expo, which ran under the theme ‘Unveiling Local Opportunities in Zvishavane’ provided a platform for the University to showcase programmes offered across the University’s nine faculties namely; Arts, Commerce, Education, Law, Medicine, Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering, Natural Resources Management and Agriculture, Science and Technology, and Social Sciences. More importantly, the Expo allowed visitors to the MSU stand to learn more about what the University’s Zvishavane Campus has to offer.

Exhibiting under the sub-theme ‘Value Addition Through Learning and Research’, the University exhibition was the centre of attraction throughout the Expo, as various stakeholders among them, members of the Zvishavane business community, prospective students and members of the general public came to learn more about the country’s premier institution of higher education.

In recognition of its sterling achievements in higher education and contribution to the development of the Zvishavane community, the University was awarded the 2017 Outstanding Value Addition Tertiary Institution Award by the Zvishavane Business Expo.

Accepting the award on behalf of the University, Professor Viriri who was also the guest of honour at the awards ceremony held on Saturday afternoon, said he was humbled by the recognition and pledged to continue working hard for the development of the district.

“As Midlands State University, we appreciate this recognition by the Zvishavane Business Expo and we hope to continue adding value to the Zvishavane community”.

For its exploits, the University walked away with a trophy and a certificate of excellence.
