Once every year Midlands State University invites high school students together with their teachers, parents and guardians to come and get a first-hand appreciation of what the University of First Choice has to offer.

This year was no different as the University hosted its annual Open Day on the 29th of September 2017.

Addressing Ordinary and Advanced level students during the event, MSU Acting Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Academic Affairs, Professor D Z Moyo, emphasised the importance of the Open Day in helping students to make the right career choices as well as exposing them to the many benefits that come with enrolling at Midlands State University.

‘Today you will be exposed to the demands of university education, the various programmes offered by MSU as well as the respective career prospects. You will receive crucial advice on choosing the right career path, information on the ideal subject combinations that will allow you to pursue the career of your dreams and more importantly, you will learn about life at MSU both inside and outside the classroom as well as the numerous advantages that come with enrolling with MSU’, said the Pro Vice-Chancellor.

Running under the theme, ‘Explore, Discover and Act’ the Open Day also presented an opportunity for students to interact with members of the University community, tour facilities as well as get a glimpse of what university life is all about.

Schools that attended the event were drawn from various provinces across the country.
