The Midlands State University growth strategy received a thumps up from one of Zimbabwe’s renowned expert in corporate strategy and corporate governance, Dr Eve Gadzikwa. Speaking at a public lecture, on Corporate Governance, held at the Management Training Bureau on Saturday, 21 April 2018, Dr Gadzikwa, brought a wealth of knowledge spanning from her experience with companies such Standards Association of Zimbabwe and Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA).
As part of efforts to increase access to higher education through the the multi-campus system, MSU boasts of 6 flourishing campuses namely Gweru Main Campus, Harare Campus, MSU Harare School of Social Work, Zvishavane Campus, Faculty of Law, Commerce and Graduate School of Business Leadership and Batanai Campus.
“I’m quite aware that Midlands State University has a robust development strategy and has carved a name for itself as a premium academic institution locally and regionally. Such growth can only be attributed to a sound corporate governance infrastructure,” said Dr Gadzikwa.
The public lecture gave a detailed and practical approach to corporate governance and its centrality within the, “Zimbabwe is Open for Business” mantra.
In his remarks, the Chairperson of the Department of Business Management, Mr S Sikomwe, appreciated the depth and practical approach of the lecture delivered by Dr Gadzikwa and highlighted that the lecture was the first of many to follow as the department seeks to tap knowledge from industrial experts so as to strengthen the its degree programmes.
In attendance were members of staff from the department and undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Business Management class.
