Midlands State University was among organisations and institutions that took part in the 2018 edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), held in Bulawayo from the 24th to the 28th of April.

Running under the theme ‘Sustainable Industrial Development – Inclusive, Competitive, and Collaborative’, the country’s premier business event was officially opened on Friday the 27th of April by His Excellency, the President, Honourable Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Exhibiting in Hall 3 ‘Scholastic’, alongside other institutions of higher learning, the University stand proved to be very popular with visitors from all walks of life that included government ministers and officials, captains of industry, high school students, prospective students and alumni among other stakeholders visiting the stand to find out more about the University of First Choice, Midlands State University.

The University’s exhibition comprised of exhibits showcasing research and innovations from various faculties such as Social Sciences, Science and Technology, Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering, Medicine and Natural Resources Management and Agriculture.

Notable guests at the stand included the Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development, Professor Amon Murwira, the University’s very own Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor V N Muzvidziwa and the Acting Pro Vice-Chancellor, Research and Academic Affairs, Professor D Z Moyo.

The University’s participation at ZITF 2018, was topped off by an Alumni and Friends Cocktail, which was held on the 26th of April. The event brought together various members of the University alumni for a great night of interaction and engagement that witnessed participates mapping ways through which the alumni can actively participate and contribute to the overall development and growth of their Alma mater.
