Midlands State University is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs Victoria Hungwe as the University’s new Council Chairperson, with effect from 01 February 2021 to 31 January 2024.

Mrs Hungwe brings with her vast experience, having productively served as a member of the University Council prior to her latest appointment as Chairperson. She takes over from Dr Eng. Caleb Makwiranzou whose term of office came to an end on 31 December 2020.

She is currently the Human Resources Manager at Sino-Zimbabwe Cement Company. In a career spanning over two decades, she has worked in various capacities both in the
private and public sectors. She holds a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Sociology (University of Zimbabwe), a Bachelor of Laws Degree (UNISA) and a Master of
Business Administration Degree (Midlands State University) among other qualifications.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor V. N. Muzvidziwa, the University Senate, Staff and
Students congratulate Mrs Hungwe and wish her success in her new role. We look
forward to her leadership and wise counsel. We also take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to the outgoing Chairperson, Dr Eng. C. Makwiranzou and his team of Councillors for their outstanding service and contribution towards the growth and
development of the University during their tenure.
