Health care personnel from the Midlands State University’s Health Services Department were vaccinated at the University’s Gweru Main Campus on Tuesday 23 February 2021 as the national COVID-19 vaccination programme got underway in the Midlands Province.
The ten (10) members of staff who received their first jabs of the Sinopharm vaccine from a team of health professionals from the Ministry of Health and Child Care are among frontline workers that have been earmarked by the government to receive COVID-19 vaccination under the first phase of the national rollout.
Among those vaccinated was the University’s Acting Health Services Director, Dr Gerald Hangaika, who applauded the government and the Ministry of Health and Child Care for prioritising frontline workers as part of the first phase.
