MSU Pro Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs, Professor Alois Solomon Chiromo, this Friday 23 September 2022, advised that the University is geared to help people achieve their dreams if they enrol with MSU; the University of first choice.
He said this to thousands of high school students attending the official opening of the Open Day at Midlands State University-Main Campus in Gweru.
Professor Chiromo also highlighted that MSU’s degree programmes are in line with Education 5.0 philosophy which underscores research, innovation and commercialization and gives students vast opportunities after graduation.
“Whether you want to be captains of industry, scientists, doctors, lawyers, bankers, accountants, engineers, Information Technology (IT) gurus, musicians, politicians, members of the civil society, and entrepreneurs to mention but a few, MSU is here to transform your dreams, hopes and aspirations into a reality.
“It is our continuous effort to produce well-rounded graduates who are global citizens, contribute to economic, social, political and technological development at a global level.
“Therefore MSU provides high-quality education in a friendly and conducive learning environment.
“We have established campuses that are at the centre of our nation’s innovation ecosystem and our infrastructure are state-of-the-art and are of national, regional and international repute,” said Professor Chiromo.
In her vote of thanks, MSU’s Director of Marketing and Information, Mrs Mirirai Mawere emphasized that MSU eagerly awaits for students to complete their Ordinary and Advanced Level studies and enrol with MSU.
“Always remember that your University of first choice stands ready to welcome you and help you pursue and fulfil your destinies.
“We, therefore, look forward to hosting you in one of our multidisciplinary faculties to help you become a holistic, equipped, skilled, educated and responsible global citizen,” said Mrs Mawere.
The Open Day ended with attendants visiting various stands manned by MSU Faculties, which provided detailed information on the degree programmes on offer and the qualifications needed to enroll for all those programmes.
The event was attended by members of the University community that included the Pro-Vice Chancellor-Research, Innovation and Industrialization, Professor Grace Mugumbate, Executive Director of Research and Innovation, Professor Laurine Chikoko, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr Reginald Matchaba-Hove, Principal Officers, MSU staff and students.
