The academic year commenced in earnest on Monday, 15 February 2016 with the beginning of the February to June semester. It was a hive of activity at the University’s campuses in Gweru and Zvishavane as students went about the formalities of completing registration and settling into their various halls of residence among other things.
Most students expressed delight at returning to the University after a long vacation with some looking forward to completing their studies this semester, while level 1 Semester 1 students simply could not wait to embark on the journey that is tertiary education.
This semester promises to be an eventful one for staff and students alike with a number of events lined up both in and outside the classroom. The University is set to participate in the 56th edition of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair set for Bulawayo from the 26th to the 30th of April 2016. Midlands State University athletes will also participate in the 2016 edition of the Zimbabwe Universities Sports Association (ZUSA) games to be held in Bulawayo during the last week of March, among other events.
