Unlike the men’s team that rose through the league ranks, the ladies’ team was admitted straight into the Zimbabwe Women’s Soccer League, which is the highest level of women’s soccer in Zimbabwe. The team, also known as the Jaguars, joined the league in 2017 where, just the Academic Sharks, they have continue to grow from strength to strength with each passing year.

The Jaguars have in their brief stint in top flight football consistently managed to identify and develop players who have gone on to earn national team call ups. Notable examples include Privilege Mupeti, Diana Nyika Roselyn Dube and Nobuhle Majika who have gone on to represent the country at various regional and international competitions

The university has an impressive enrollment of students drawn from the country and the African continent. It is imperative to point out that being a university team, MSUFC is integral to the promotion of youth sports. The club is predominantly made up of university students, drawing more than 60% of its players’ compliment from the MSU student population.
