The Legal Officer is primarily responsible for this practise area which involves governance and executive initiatives, including the following:
- Providing legal counsel to the Council, the Vice Chancellor and Principal Officers, Faculty Deans, Directors and Heads of Department;
- Interpretation and revision of Rules, Policies and Regulations;
- Issuance of legal opinions;
- Providing legislative review, analysis, and research (as requested);
- Authorising and overseeing the work of outside legal counsel;
- Compliance
