Research interests: Studies in contemporary culture through literature, language and communication. Central to these is the question of representation. Topics of interest include identity, belonging, race, gender and alterity and how they are mediated through literary, traditional media and social media texts.


Prof Tasiyana D. Javangwe

Dr Hugh Mangeya

Modules Taught: - Discourse Analysis, Theories of Mass Communication, Trends in Linguistics. Have numerous publications which include articles in refereed journals and chapters in books. Research interests lie in the area graffiti as an instantiation of human communication, identity issues in sports discourses and phonology.
